Situated in southern Marathon County along the Wisconsin River, Kronenwetter was named in honor of Sebastian Kronenwetter, an early lumber pioneer and civic leader. Originally established as a town in 1886 and incorporated as a village in 2002, Kronenwetter has evolved into a thriving community that balances historical roots in timber and agriculture with vibrant residential neighborhoods.
